Mt. Kinabalu located in Kinabalu Park is Malaysia first World Heritage Site with a height of 4095.2 meters is the highest mountain between the Himalayas and Papua New Guinea. The mountain attracts climbers from all over the world and bookings have to be done very much earlier to avoid disappointment. A typical climb to the summit will take 2 days 1 night with overnights at mountain huts. However if you have good fitness, a strong will, top mental condition but have not make any reservations to climb to the summit of Mt. Kinabalu and spaces are no longer available there is an option for you to experience a climb, not to the summit of Mt. Kinabalu but to Layang- Layang Hut (2, 740m) in a Day.

 

Tour Itinerary

  • 0700hrs - Greeted by your tour guide, proceed to Kinabalu Park, A journey which will take approximately 2hrs passing by local villages and traversing the Crocker Range which offers a panoramic view of the surrounding hills and valleys on a clear day.
  • 0900hrs - Arrive at Kinabalu Park HQ, meet Mountain Guide, collect Pack Lunch and proceed to the Timpohon Gate to start your climb. A normal healthy person will take approximately 4 hrs to reach Layang - Layang Station.
  • 0930hrs - Arrive Timpohon Gate, Start the trek up to Layang - Layang station, enroute you will be able to witness the changes in vegetation from Lower Montane Forest to Upper Montane Forest.
  • 1230hrs - Have lunch at one of the huts along the Kinabalu Summit Trail.
  • 1330hrs - Arrive at Layang - Layang Station. Free at leisure.
  • 1430hrs - Depart Layang - Layang Station for Timpohon Gate.
  • 1830hrs - Arrive at Timpohon Gate, proceed to the Park HQ to collect your Certificates and depart for Kota Kinabalu.
  • 2030hrs - Arrive at Kota Kinabalu, transfer to Hotel. End of Tour.

Note:

It is recommended that all climbers should have themselves medically checked before attempting any mountain climb. If you have a history of suffering from the following ailments, it is highly recommend that you should refrain from climbing: Hypertension, Diabetes, Palpitation, Arthritis, Heart disease, severe anemia, Peptic ulcers, Epileptic fits, Obesity (overweight), Chronic asthma, Muscular cramps, Hepatitis (jaundice) or any other disease which may hamper the climber. All Day Climbers must sign Indemnity release forms.
